UNDER-HOOK ACCESSORY CHECKS

UNDER-HOOK EQUIPMENT CHECKS

Under-hook equipment is essential for ensuring safety when lifting heavy loads. Regular inspections and tests on this equipment are essential to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment. Here are some of the checks to perform on under-hook equipment:

> Visual inspection: Inspect equipment for visible damage such as cracks, deformations, wear and corrosion.

> Component Check: Check the condition of all equipment components, including hooks, lifting rings, chains and straps, to ensure they are intact and in good condition.

> Load Capacity Check: Ensure that the underhook equipment is capable of supporting the weight of the load being lifted and that it meets the maximum load specifications.

> Operation Check: Check that the lifting and locking mechanisms work properly and that there are no jammed or damaged parts.

> Documentation Check: Ensure that underhook equipment is supplied with all necessary documentation, including certificates of conformity and instruction manuals.

Performing these checks regularly and implementing preventative maintenance procedures will help ensure that underhook equipment is safe and efficient for use in industrial and commercial work environments.

HOW THE SERVICE IS CARRIED OUT

Inspections of under-hook accessories are required by law by Legislative Decree 81/08, art. 71, paragraph 8, and Annex VI, point 3.1.2 (quarterly inspections), and therefore require compliance checks for all connected lifting accessories, commonly referred to as "under-hook" accessories. This service, performed by trained personnel, is intended for all companies using lifting accessories such as chains, wire rope slings, slings, straps, lifting beams, eyebolts, shackles, ropes, etc., and consists of a visual inspection of the accessories, compliance checks, and the issuance of a periodic inspection report. This includes the supply of CE-compliant spare parts if needed.

Method of intervention:

Equipment inspection directly at the requesting company, with the help of equipped mobile workshops or at our workshops in Massa (MS).

Inventory and inspection of equipment in accordance with current regulations, internal quality procedures, and the manufacturer's instructions.

Check for compliance and presence of any tags indicating the product certification number.

Compiling the report with the results of the inspection.

Lifting equipment: inspection procedures for accessories

Inspection procedures for lifting accessories on fixed-type equipment such as overhead cranes, gantry cranes, derrick cranes, and others are essential to ensure the safety and proper operation of such equipment.

Here are some important points regarding lifting accessory checks:

Suspension Elements: It is essential to regularly check ropes, slings, chains, sleeves and other suspension elements to ensure they are in good condition.

Check that there are no signs of wear and that there are no obvious breaks or damage.

Make sure that the accessories are correctly secured and that there are no looseness or deformations that could compromise safety.

Inspection Procedure: Follow the specific procedures indicated in the original document for inspecting lifting accessories. Ensure that inspections are carried out by trained, competent, and informed personnel on a regular basis and according to the established frequencies. Record all inspections performed in a dedicated logbook, except for daily inspections, which require recording only if defects are detected.

Data retention: It is important to retain the results of the inspections conducted and the related documentation for at least three years, in accordance with current regulations. This practice allows for tracking the inspections performed, potential defects found, and corrective actions taken over time.

Be sure to carefully follow the indicated inspection procedures and involve qualified personnel to carry out the inspections correctly and safely, ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations and proper maintenance of lifting equipment and related accessories.
